A strict selection process ensures that only the most highly qualified, classically trained American and European instructors become Tex-Over Farms staff members. They must adhere to proven techniques and principles of classical teaching and riding while stressing rules of safe horsemanship and good sportsmanship.
Growing up in Longview, TX Matt started riding at the age of eleven when he began volunteering at Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center. It was there he spent many years learning to ride, train, and teach for programs utilizing horses for therapeutic purposes. At the age of seventeen, Matt started his first therapeutic equine program for Azelway Boy's Ranch in Tyler, Tx, and by nineteen had started his second therapeutic equine program for The Methodist Children's Home in Waco. In both programs, Matt focused his skills as a trainer/instructor towards helping at-risk youth find a better path in life. When Matt was twenty two he went to work for McLennan Community College in Waco while he also developed a training and boarding facility on a two hundred acre farm just outside of town. In the fall of 2006, Matt moved to Tex-Over where he currently trains horses and teaches riders in Dressage.
